Speaking at University of Puget Sound’s But Some of Us Are Brave Lecture Series

February 23, 2019

I am thrilled to be giving a talk on Thursday, 7 March 2019 at the University of Puget Sound for the Women’s History Month Speaker Series But Some of Us Are Brave. My lecture is entitled “Narrative as Life: Writing, Self, and Polyculturalism”. I am looking forward to visiting this campus for the first time and meeting student groups and faculty.

I really enjoy hearing stories and ideas from all kinds of people who are bravely dreaming and manifesting new forms of self, society, and nation. The fight is on for narratives that take on and challenge the existing order. I have deep faith that our future can be everything we want it to be if we recognize our truths and histories, and risk the possibility of change.
